A two-week program focusing on practical, everyday obedience that is completed with a high level of precision, outside, off-leash, with distractions! This program provides K9 life skills including exposure to manners and socialization (dogs and people). All behaviors are taught with high-level distraction proofing. Your dog will stay with our trainers, at their homes.
Please call to discuss so we can determine if this program is the best fit for you and your pup. We do have payment plan options. Dogs must be fully house trained. Dogs that are not fully house trained are a better fit for our lesson packages.
The success of our Board and Train program is largely dependent on your dog’s individual temperament. While we tailor training methods to fit each dog's unique needs, certain behaviors or temperaments may require more time, consistency, or specialized approaches to achieve optimal results. Throughout the process, the trainer will provide ongoing guidance and personalized recommendations to ensure long-term success for you and your dog. The curriculum for this program includes:
Full Off Leash Recall (Come on command, outside, off-leash). Overly anxious or reactive dogs may not fully be off leash. Trainer will provide recommendation.
Sit and Extended Sit (Dog remains in position until released)
Down and Extended Down
Greeting Manners (not jumping)
Waiting politely at doors and gates (wait when they are opened until released)
Waiting politely for meals (wait until released)
Training with distractions (dogs and people)
Place and Extended Place (Jump up and sit on any object you point to on command and stay there until released)
Heel Command (off-leash and loose leash heel)
Waterproof, e-Collar with 1/2 mile range and two-year warranty.
Comes with Lifetime Refresher Sessions, if needed. Sessions are one-hour with a Trainer at one of our facilities.
After completing the training, the owner is provided a 2-hour one-on-one session detailing everything their companion does, how to handle them, and how to control them properly. The owner will need to utilize the e-collar to reinforce behaviors following training. You must follow the guidance provided by the trainer during your turnover session to ensure a successful transition back into your home.

This program is for those looking for a different approach to training. A three-week program focusing on confidence building and practical obedience that is completed with a high level of precision, on-leash with distractions! This program provides life skills, including manners, exposure and socialization (dogs and people). Your dog will stay with our trainers, at their homes. Trainers will use treats, praise and either a martingale collar or prong collar, depending on the dog’s needs. No e-collars are used during this program.
The success of our Board and Train program is largely dependent on your dog’s individual temperament. While we tailor training methods to fit each dog's unique needs, certain behaviors or temperaments may require more time, consistency, or specialized approaches to achieve optimal results. A therapy dog accompanies their owner into specific settings for the benefit of residents or clients and/or as part of a therapeutic intervention. Studies have shown that interacting with therapy dogs as part of an animal-assisted intervention approach yields both physical and psychological benefits to humans and the dog.
This course is designed to prepare you for the testing & is not the formal certification.

Course Outline:
Week 1: E-collar introduction with Come, Sit, Break and Off (including relevant distractions)
Week 2: Place (including relevant distractions)
Week 3: Heel (including relevant distractions)
Week 4: Down (including relevant distractions)
Week 5: Food Refusal (neither from people nor off the floor)
Week 6: Public field trip (in location with similar traffic, floor textures, and noises for therapy work goal)
Week 7: Recap and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) practice
Week 8: CGC Evaluation
Minimum Program Standards:
Dog will be exposed to noises (loud children, beeping machinery, etc).
Dog will be exposed to moving objects (wheelchair, walker, etc)
Dog will be exposed to groups of people
Dog will be exposed to other dogs (not interacting, but ignoring in close proximity)
Dog will be exposed to being touched all over without reaction
Client Requirements:
Client will be required to have a specific facility goal and to have reached out to that facility prior to starting the program with any specific requirements from that facility. This will help to ensure the therapy dog team is properly trained for the type of therapy work they are pursuing and allow the trainer to customize the program and distractions to help meet those requirements. (i.e. working with children, working with senior citizens, working in hospitals or rehabilitation facilities, etc).
